Along the Amstel — Fine Art

Along the Amstel shows a river stretch with trees along the bank, done in the way Piet Mondrian used straight lines and blocks of colour. The scene stays calm and plain, with the water and the shore laid out side by side.

This fine art print uses a matte surface, so the flat colour areas do not shine back under a lamp. A light frame on a dark wall, or a dark frame on a pale wall, sets the edges without changing the picture.

It fits on a hallway wall where the light comes from one side. From the stair you catch the straight lines first, then the river block below them.
