Aspiration — Fine Art

Aspiration by Agnes Martin holds a few pale lines across an open field. The pencil lines are close together near the top and spread out below. Empty space carries most of the weight. The work stays quiet and spare.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The frame comes in white, wood, dark wood or black. A white frame keeps the pale lines clear against the wall. The clean edge settles the picture and stops the grey from fading into the background.

On a bedroom wall the lines sit low and calm. You notice the small gaps between the strokes first. From the doorway the field reads as one soft sheet of grey.
