Autumn by Arkhyp Kuindzhi

Autumn shows a landscape in warm tones, with trees and a path set across a wide stretch of ground. Arkhyp Kuindzhi painted the scene with careful natural light and a calm mood.

The sky holds a soft haze over the fields and the colours sit quietly against the open space. The fine art panel uses a frame finish that can follow the room, with a light frame on a dark wall or a dark frame on a pale wall.

The surface stays matte under a lamp so the warm greens and browns do not shine back. It works well on the wall in a dining room, where the warm colours sit behind the table and the path leads the eye from the doorway to the far end of the room.
