Beaudelaire — Fine Art

Beaudelaire shows open fields of colour with large white gaps between the painted areas. Sam Francis built the surface with loose washes that spread and thin out at the edges. From across the room the image reads as broad colour planes. Up close the paper grain shows through the thin paint layers.

You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. The white frame finish gives Beaudelaire a clean edge that does not compete with the paint. The frame edge keeps the colour fields separate from the wall so the white gaps hold their shape.

This print works on a bedroom wall above a low bed. From the door the big colour fields sit calm against the plaster. Lean in and the thin wash edges soften where the paint ran out.
