Black and Violet 1923 takes its name from two main tones set against a softer field. The painter is known for abstract compositions built from floating colour patches and thin lines. The marks do not form objects, only an arrangement of tones and lines that stay separate from the ground.

This is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The printed sheet carries the flat colour areas and thin drawn lines without a glossy finish, so the violet and black stay distinct on the wall.
