About this work
Blue and gray - 1962 shows two soft colour fields set one above the other on the paper. A deep blue band rests near the top, and a grey band lies below it. The edges between them are not sharp.
A matte paper print keeps the tones even and stops any shine under a bulb. The frame can follow the room, a light frame on a dark wall or a dark frame near pale paint, so the work settles into the wall instead of standing apart. This fine art print reads the colour quietly.
It fits a hallway wall where you pass it each morning. The blue band lifts above the grey band, and the soft edge between them stays calm as you walk by. A wood frame beside a bench keeps the line simple.
