Blue Balls VIII

Blue Balls VIII puts a blue field over a pale ground. Blue sits in broad sweeps instead of hard blocks. Sam Francis worked with open space and paint washes in his abstract expressionist practice. The soft matte paper holds the blue without shine under a lamp.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. The light frame follows the wall behind it. A dark frame would sit on a pale wall. The frame finish can follow the room, so the print blends with the wood or paint nearby.

Daylight from the side reaches the blue field on a study wall. From the door you see the broad sweeps first. Close up you notice the edge of each sweep.

Frequently asked

Yes — this Fine Art piece comes framed and arrives ready to hang. It is printed with our 12-color fine art technology on smooth matte paper (200 gsm), protected by shatterproof plexiglass, and set in a durable pine wood frame. A hanging kit is included, so you can put it straight on the wall.

Our 12-color fine art printing technology delivers vivid, accurate colors with real depth, far beyond standard 4-color inkjet printing. The print is on smooth matte paper (200 gsm, 0.26 mm thick) that gives a clean, glare-free display, and it sits behind shatterproof plexiglass in a durable pine wood frame (20 mm thick, 10 to 14 mm wide). The paper and wood are FSC-certified. Every piece is printed and shipped on demand, so there is no minimum order and every order is fresh.
