Blue Form on Yellow — Fine Art

Blue Form on Yellow shows a solid blue shape set against a yellow field. The blue sits clean and sharp, while the yellow holds the picture together. Ellsworth Kelly built these works from simple colour planes. You see two flat tones meeting without blending into each other.

The matte paper keeps the bright yellow from turning shiny under a lamp. A dark frame makes the blue read as a separate colour block on a pale wall. You can order this as a fine art print that stays true to the two tones.

Hang it on a long wall near a window where daylight reaches the surface. From across the room the blue shape reads as one clear mark, and up close the edges stay firm and even.
