Boat in the Waters off Capri by John Singer Sargent — Fine Art

Boat in the Waters off Capri shows a small craft gliding over dark sea water near a rocky coast. The artist uses loose brushwork to flatten the light on the waves.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. John Singer Sargent often worked with thin paint and quick strokes outdoors. The picture sits on a pale bedroom wall at a medium height.

A dark frame sits on the pale wall, and the soft water tones stay clear under a bedside lamp. You notice the steady line of the boat first, then the small ripple marks near the shore.
