Brown Swiss — Fine Art

Brown Swiss by Andrew Wyeth shows a standing cow with loose brushwork on a plain ground. The animal fills the middle of the picture and the background stays mostly empty. You can see the shape of the head and the curve of the back. The work is a figurative painting with a calm mood.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. A white frame gives the picture a clean edge on the wall. The frame finish keeps the paint marks easy to read and does not pull the eye away from the subject. A dark wood frame would make the ground feel heavier.

It fits on a bedroom wall above the head of the bed. From the doorway you see the cow shape first. From the bedside you notice the small paint lines on the withers.
