City Night — Fine Art

City Night by Georgia OKeeffe shows a city built from simple blocks and lines. The shapes sit quiet against a dark ground. The picture stays still. It does not move the eye fast. The form comes from a long habit in the work of Georgia OKeeffe, where buildings and hills turn into plain shapes.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The frame finish can follow the room, so a dark frame sits on a pale wall or a light frame meets a dark one. A matte surface keeps the tones even and stops a shine from a lamp.

It works on a wall over a straight desk. From the doorway the blocks read clear. Up close the lines stay flat and sure. The room feels settled and plain.
