About this work
Colors on Yellow Gold - 1973 shows broad painted areas of yellow and gold over a darker ground. The brushwork moves in wide strokes that leave visible ridges in the paint.
You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. Robert Goodnough built this abstract expressionist painting by laying down thick colour with pressure in the hand. A wood frame finishes the print and gives the picture a clear edge on the wall.
The matte paper keeps the gold tones flat and even when the room has bright light. It works on a dining room wall seen from the table. From there the broad yellow strokes read as a single warm field with the darker ground holding the shape.
