Composition

Composition - 1955 by Maria Helena Vieira da Silva shows a set of thin lines and colour patches that seem to build a deep space through overlapping planes.

The eye moves through the layers before it rests near the centre. A fine art print uses this same layering on a matte sheet.

The white frame gives the picture a clean edge that does not pull the eye away from the lines. You notice the print first in a study, where the lighter marks catch the desk lamp and the darker patches stay soft on the wall behind the chair.

As a guide: 40×50 cm suits a desk or small wall, 50×70 cm sits well above a sofa or bed, and 70×100 cm anchors a room as a focal piece. If you'd like advice for your space, send us your dimensions and we'll recommend a size.

For your country, this piece is estimated at 5 to 8 business days from the moment you order, including production, with free tracked delivery. Every piece is made to order by the print partner closest to you; framed pieces take a little longer because each one is framed and checked before dispatch. These are estimates, and there is no express option. Full country-by-country ranges are on our estimated delivery times page, and you can see exactly how your piece is packed.

If your piece arrives damaged, defective, or isn't what you ordered, email us within 7 days of delivery with photos and your order number, and keep all packaging. We will send a free replacement at no cost to you. See our refund policy for the full process.
