Composition 34 — Fine Art

Composition 34 uses geometric planes of colour that overlap and shift across the page. Sonia Delaunay built her work around colour and rhythm. She arranged flat shapes so they seem to move against one another.

The fine art print sits inside a white frame. The clean edge keeps the colour blocks separate from the wall. A wood frame would pull the warm tones forward, and a black frame would cut the outline sharply.

On a dining room wall the broad colour fields read well from the table. You notice the edges where one shape meets another. The white frame gives each plane a clear border.
