About this work
Concept Spatiale - 1968 shows a plain ground with a cut running across it. The slit pulls the surface apart and lets the wall show through. Lucio Fontana worked with this same idea for years. The cut is the main mark here.
The fine art frame gives the picture a clear edge on the wall. Choose white, wood, dark wood or black. A dark wood frame keeps the slit sharp against a darker room. A white frame lets the cut read as a single line on a pale ground.
Above a kitchen counter you notice the cut first from the doorway. The line leads your eye to the far wall. From the table you see the torn edge and the small gaps in the paint. The mark stays simple and the room stays quiet.
