Crimson Glory shows a landscape built from hard red shapes and clean lines. The picture follows the Eyvind Earle style of simplified land forms and sharp divisions between sky and ground.

You notice the flat red band first, then the clean outline of the hill below it. It works on a pale wall above a sofa. From the doorway you see the red band across the top, and from the chair you see the sharp outline of the hill edge.
