Dancers on a Plane — Fine Art

Dancers on a Plane shows repeated painted marks laid over a flat colour field. The lines carry a steady hand pressure and run in a measured way across the surface. Jasper Johns built the image by stacking paint on top of earlier layers.

The picture arrives as a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The matte paper holds the layered colour without shine, so the painted lines keep their soft edge.

On a quiet hallway wall the repeated marks sit between the door and the coat hook. You notice the hand pressure in the thick strokes and the flat colour behind them.
