Emblemata Beehive — Fine Art

Emblemata Beehive by MC Escher shows a row of repeated beehive forms set side by side. Each unit has the same outline and the same internal lines. The drawing uses flat black ink shapes on a white ground. From the hallway you see the regular rhythm of the shapes.

The fine art print sits on matte paper, so the black areas read as solid and the white areas stay open. A dark frame on a pale wall lets the repeated outlines stand out.

In a study room the print hangs above a desk. The steady rows of beehive shapes slow the eye as you sit down to read. The matte paper keeps the room feeling calm under a desk lamp.
