About this work
Erg Series - 1977 by Alexander Liberman presents a set of stacked horizontal lines across the paper. The lines shift in tone as they move from one side to the other. The composition keeps a steady rhythm without filling every space.
The fine art print uses a matte sheet that holds the greys without shine. A white frame gives the picture a clear edge on the wall and keeps the lines from bleeding into the room.
In a study above the desk you notice the quiet shift of tones before anything else. At night the lamp brings out the thin breaks between the rows.
