Falconieri Gardens, Frascati by John Singer Sargent — Fine Art

Falconieri Gardens, Frascati shows a shaded garden path in Frascati drawn with quick watercolour strokes. Greens and pale stone tones sit against each other, and the page stays open where the light reaches the ground.

John Singer Sargent painted this scene in a loose manner that leaves some edges unpainted. The fine art print sits in a frame with a back panel and arrives assembled when the ready to hang option is used. The back panel keeps the print flat on the wall and the frame holds the edges straight.

The matte surface keeps the greens from shining under a lamp. A hall wall near the front door works well for this picture. From the entry you see the garden shapes set against the pale ground, and you notice the watercolour washes and the open edges up close.
