Fashionable People 1950 by Rene Magritte — Fine Art

Fashionable People 1950 shows a few figures placed in a plain painted field. The shapes sit in the upper half, leaving open space below. A thin outline keeps each figure separate from the ground. The scene reads as a quiet group arranged for a still moment.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The frame in white, wood, dark wood or black gives the picture a clear edge on the wall. A white frame lifts the grey tones without changing them. A dark wood frame sits heavier beside the plain ground.

In a dining room, the picture sits above a sideboard. From the table the figures read as simple forms against the wall. The open space below gives the eye room to rest. The frame edge keeps the image from fading into the paint on the wall.
