Flirt — Fine Art

The sheet for Flirt - 1995 holds a thin band of washed colour laid across an open ground. Helen Frankenthaler poured and brushed the paint so the edges stay soft and the pigment soaks into the paper. The ground stays light while the colour stays close to it.

The fine art print uses matte paper so the washes keep their soft edges and do not shine under a lamp. The frame can follow the room, with a light finish on a dark wall or a wood finish beside wood furniture.

It sits on the stairwell wall where the steps turn. From the landing you see the thin colour band before the turn, and the open ground stays clear as you pass.
