Genius Logic by Hans Hofmann puts together broad areas of paint that seem to move toward each other on the sheet. The marks read as a quiet study of how forms meet.

The frame finish can follow the room, so a dark finish on a pale wall lets the paint areas read without a bright border. A fine art print keeps the colour planes clear and the edges clean, so the layout stays easy to read when the light falls across it.

In a study with a desk against one wall, the paint areas sit above the desk line and the eye lands on the colour planes first. From the doorway you notice the dark and pale areas before the small shifts between them.
