Golden Door by Richard Pousette-Dart — Fine Art

The picture called Golden Door by Richard Pousette-Dart shows a bright opening shape set against dark layered paint. Broad strokes and small marks build up across the surface. From across the room the door shape reads clearly, while the small marks show up when you stand closer.

This fine art print sits on a wall with steady light. A light frame on a dark wall keeps the tone balanced, and a dark frame on a pale wall grounds the colours. The paper holds the paint tones without a shine.

It fits a hallway wall where morning light comes in from the side. From the landing you see the dark area around the bright door, and the marks in the paint stand out.
