Green Sea Moon — Fine Art

A pale wash sits under layered patches of blue and green in Green Sea Moon - 2006. The colour fields press into each other without hard lines, and a few thin strokes cut across the surface. They read as a rough sky seen through moving water. John Hoyland often built paintings this way, laying thin washes over earlier marks.

The picture arrives as a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. When you choose the ready to hang option it comes assembled. The matte paper keeps the blue tones flat so the sea tone does not shine under a lamp.

It fits a tiled kitchen wall above the sink. From the table you see the broad green band first, and when you stand at the counter the small painted lines come into view.
