Dark grey marks flare out from one side on a pale ground in Grey Fireworks, 1982-. The shapes look like bursts of ink moving outward.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. Helen Frankenthaler built her paintings by pouring thin colour into wet paper and letting it soak in. That same open field practice gives the print its soft edges and spread colour.

A dark frame on a pale wall keeps the grey shapes clear. You notice the outward bursts from a few steps back, then the quieter thin marks closer in.
