Grey Oval 1975

Grey Oval 1975 shows a flat grey shape that runs across the sheet. The outline has soft edges and the tone shifts from one side to the other. Alexander Calder worked with painted metal and simple geometric forms that sit on a quiet ground.

The fine art print sits ready to hang with a metal hanger fixed to the back. You put it straight onto a nail and the grey oval stays flat on the wall.

In a study the shape reads from the desk. The grey stays soft under the lamp and the edges do not catch the light.
