Harney Desert Landscape — Fine Art

Harney Desert Landscape sets a dry plain under a wide sky. The picture shows low land and open air in a loose painted style. Childe Hassam worked in American impressionism, using quick colour strokes to catch the look of a place before the light changes.

The picture comes as a fine art print with a frame in white, wood, dark wood or black. The frame gives the image a clear edge against the wall. A white frame keeps the dry tones clear, while a black frame sets the sky deeper.

In a reading corner the wide sky fills the view from a low chair. The dry ground stays steady across the lower part of the picture. You notice the thin painted bands near the horizon first.
