III Notes from Salalah, Note II shows a pale sheet with loose graphite and paint marks. The handwriting sits between drawing and writing, set on a light ground. You can read the scribbled lines as a page from a working notebook. Cy Twombly repeats this notebook feeling through quick marks and script.

This is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The matte paper keeps the grey pencil tones soft, so the writing stays readable without any shine under a lamp.

It works well above a low bookshelf in a study. From the doorway you notice the broad pale field first, and up close you pick out the small pencil strokes and the handwritten line.
