About this work
Boats cut through a dark river with thin bright lines in Improvisation 26 Rowing 1912. Wassily Kandinsky drew these marks freehand, letting the brush move across the paper without a plan. The scene feels quick and unsettled, as if the water had not yet settled between strokes.
The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The frame comes in white, wood, dark wood or black. Each finish gives the picture a clear edge on the wall. A black frame keeps the dark water tones separate from the room around it.
It works on a wide hallway wall where you pass through on your way out. From the middle of the hall you read the row of boats first, then the dark patches behind them. Near the coat hook the small marks stay clear without crowding the door.
