About this work
Individualized Altimetry of Stripes 1930 shows rows of parallel lines moving across the page. Each stripe sits beside the next one with a small gap between them. The marks read as measured steps rather than loose drawing. The composition feels built from repeated units set at different heights.
This fine art print sits inside a frame with a back panel. The paper stays matte so the stripes do not shine under a lamp. The back panel keeps the surface flat against the wall. You can hang it without building the frame yourself.
In a narrow landing with white paint on the walls the horizontal bands settle into the space. From the bottom stair you see the regular rhythm of the lines. Closer you notice the slight breaks where one stripe ends and the next begins.
