Intersecting 1962

Intersecting 1962 shows straight bands crossing a plain ground. The bands shift in tone as they move from one side to the other.

This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. Anni Albers worked with these geometric forms across her textile and print practice. The marks sit in bands that read as separate sections rather than one flat field. The paper is matte, so the lighter bands stay soft under a lamp and there is no shine.

The frame finish can follow the room tone, a light frame on a dark wall or a dark frame on a pale wall. It works above a long kitchen table. From the breakfast chair you see the crossing bands, and at a closer look you notice the small tone shifts.
