About this work
The print Keiho C1 - 1963 shows a stepped field of blue and white bars that read as one flat surface from far away. Victor Vasarely built the pattern so the bands shift in tone as they cross the sheet. Your eye follows the steps without finding a single hard edge.
The fine art print uses a matte paper that holds those soft blue tones without glare. A light frame works on a dark wall, or a wood frame sits beside wooden furniture. The bars stay clear because the surface does not reflect the lamp.
It hangs on the landing wall where the hallway turns. From the turn you see the blue bands stack into a steady rhythm, and nearer you notice the small shifts between each tone.
