Komposition mit 8 roten Rechtecken Composition with 8 Red Rectangles — Fine Art

Eight red rectangles sit on a plain field in Komposition mit 8 roten Rechtecken Composition with 8 Red Rectangles - 1964. The forms repeat in a steady row, each one set apart from the next. The work comes from the hard edge painting practice of Blinky Palermo.

This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. You see the colour blocks across the room before you notice the thin gaps between them. The print runs on a matte sheet, so the red stays even and does not shine under a lamp.

It hangs on a landing wall where you pass it each day. From the stair you read the red blocks as a single band. Near the bend you see the white space between each one.
