Landscape

Landscape sets out a country view with trees and open ground painted in loose colour patches. The paint sits in separate strokes that keep the ground and sky apart.

You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. Pierre-Auguste Renoir worked in this impressionist way, laying short touches of paint to build the scene. The paper is matte, so the colours stay flat and do not gleam under a lamp. A metal hanger is fitted to the back and goes straight onto a nail or screw.

No separate frame is needed. It fits a hallway wall above a narrow console. From the stair you see the big colour patches, and the small strokes only when you pass the first bend.
