Lava Flow From Etna — Fine Art

Lava Flow From Etna shows a dark volcanic stream cutting across the page against a pale ground. The marks follow the slope of the hill and step from one side to the other. M C Escher made this kind of measured line drawing with ink on paper. You can see the same careful hand in his topographic studies of Italian landscapes.

The picture comes as a fine art print with a choice of white wood dark wood or black frame. A white frame keeps the dark lava line clear against the pale sheet and does not crowd the edges of the drawing.

In a hallway with warm light the dark lava shape reads first from the turn near the stairs. Up close the thin ink marks show the slope and the hard edge of the cooled ground.
