About this work
Light Center - 1961 shows soft bands of pale colour stacked in a quiet field. The bands glow from the middle and fade toward the sides. Agnes Lawrence Pelton worked with this kind of luminous colour in her abstract paintings. The picture stays calm and open.
The fine art frame finishes the print with a clear edge on the wall. A white frame keeps the pale bands bright and the dark frame makes the glow sit deeper in the room. Either choice gives the image a settled border.
On a study wall the pale bands pull the eye inward. From the desk you notice the glow in the middle and the quiet fade across the field. The frame edge keeps the picture clean against the wall.
