Little River — Fine Art

A narrow running stream meets a soft bank in Little River by Pierre-Auguste Renoir. The water bends through the picture in long lines, with green along the edges and a pale sky above. The marks are short and separate, as in impressionist painting.

The fine art print uses a matte finish on the glass so the light greens do not turn bright under a lamp. A light frame sits well on a dark wall, and a wood frame works beside timber furniture. The picture reads clearly at the height of a person standing in the room.

In a narrow hallway, the long water line leads the eye along the passage. Near the landing you notice the separate strokes in the bank, and at the far end you see the pale sky flatten out.
