Ludorff

Ludorff holds a loose grey field of paint with soft edges that shift when you step back. The surface does not settle into a single shape.

Gerhard Richter built the picture with quick hand marks and thin sweeps of colour. This fine art print keeps the matte finish so the grey tones stay quiet and do not shine under a lamp. A metal hanger is fitted to the back and goes straight onto a nail or screw.

You can put it on a kitchen wall above the counter where the soft grey reads as a calm patch of light. From the doorway the field stays steady. Near the sink you notice the small shifts in tone.
