M.C.2 Mariale - 1962 shows a rolled band of colour that folds back on itself across the picture plane. The paint sits in a thick layer and the edges stay soft. Simon Hantai worked with this kind of unrolled canvas method in his practice. The piece carries a quiet rhythm through the repeated turning of the band.

The fine art print arrives ready to hang on a nail or screw with a metal hanger fitted to the back. No frame is needed. The matte surface lets the darker tones stay settled without shine under a lamp.

In a hallway with afternoon light coming from a side window, the band of colour moves along the wall and the soft edges read clearly from a few paces away.
