Middle Blue III — Fine Art

Middle Blue III opens with a broad wash of blue spreading across the sheet. The paint builds in layers, with thinner passages left open near the centre. Sam Francis let the colour move freely over the paper. The eye settles on the densest blue, then drifts to the lighter gaps.
