About this work
Mobile 1932 by Alexander Calder keeps its balance with thin wire arms holding small painted forms. The eye starts at the top and follows each arm down to the next hanging piece. Empty space sits between the parts, so each shape stands on its own.
A fine art print on matte paper gives the colours a soft flat look, and a white frame sets a clean edge against the open layout.
In a kitchen with pale cabinets, the hanging forms read against the wood grain. From the table you see the wire lines, and from the doorway the whole group reads as one simple shape.
