About this work
Munich Olympic Games Poster - 1972 uses strong bands of colour stretched over the sheet. The palette holds blue, green, ochre and red, with a few hard edges and a few softer shifts. Piero Dorazio works from the paint as the mark, letting colour carry the shape.
The picture arrives as a fine art print with a metal hanger fitted to the back, so it goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy. The paper takes the colour without a gloss, so the bands read as solid shapes.
It sits on a kitchen wall above the counter. From the table you see the broad colour bands, and near the sink the small shifts in tone come through.
