About this work
Narcissus, 1963- by Helen Frankenthaler shows a single figure looking down at still water, with a thin wash of paint spreading across the surface around the head. The paint sits in open pools and leaves bare areas of paper showing through.
This fine art print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. You do not need to buy a separate frame. The matte surface keeps the colour flat so the green and blue tones do not catch a glare from a lamp.
It hangs on a wall in a quiet bedroom near the bed. From the doorway you see the figure set low and the paint stretched wide, and standing beside the bed you notice the thin strokes near the shoulders.
