Night Rider — Fine Art

Night Rider - 1983 by Gene Davis shows bands of colour laid out in a calm pattern. The bands run across the sheet in one direction and step through different tones. From far away the bands read as a quiet block of colour. Up close the painted lines show their edges and the change from one band to the next.

The picture is made as a fine art print mounted in a frame. The frame comes in white, wood, dark wood or black. The frame finish sits around the image and gives the colour bands a clear outer edge.

It works on a landing wall where the door opens straight onto the picture. From there the bands stay legible and the painted edges stay visible. You notice the shift from one colour to the next as you pass.
