Night Tree 1971 — Fine Art

Night Tree 1971 uses stacked wood pieces fitted together and painted in one solid tone. Louise Nevelson built these assemblies from found parts and turned old boxes and scraps into a single flat shape. The work reads as one dark mass made from many small joined bits.

This fine art print comes ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. You do not need a separate frame. The surface stays matte so the black tone does not shine under a lamp.

On a hallway wall near the stairs you notice the dark shape first, then the seams between the joined pieces. From the landing the whole assembly sits as one block against the wall.
