About this work
Ocean Park 63 shows a painted field broken into rectangles of blue, green and warm sand. A thin drawn line crosses the middle. The surface has areas of solid colour next to lighter patches. Richard Diebenkorn worked in this way across the Ocean Park series, moving between abstract colour and a feeling of open space.
This fine art print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back. You put it straight onto a nail or screw. The matte paper keeps the blue and sand tones even, so the painted ground reads without a shine under room light.
It fits a hallway wall where the passing stride lets you read the rectangles one after another. The drawn line catches the eye first, then the softer blue patches settle behind it.
