About this work
Old Lumber Dam Algonquin Park 1912 shows a timber structure meeting still water in the north woods. Tom Thomson painted this kind of scene with quick brushstrokes and dark tree lines. The water stays calm and the wood reads as rough planks under a broad sky.
You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. The print uses matte paper so the greys in the water stay soft. A wood frame beside wooden furniture keeps the scene in the same room tone. The frame can be light or dark to match your wall.
You see it from across a study when the wall is pale. At eye level near a lamp the small brushstrokes come into focus and the dam reads plainly.
