About this work

Our Stenciled Heart

Our Stenciled Heart - 2008 opens with a stenciled shape near the top edge.

The broad form holds most of the weight, so the lower part stays open. Miriam Schapiro returns to needlework and collage motifs drawn from craft traditions.

A fine art print set in a frame with a back panel holds the surface flat and lets the stenciled marks read without glare. The back panel keeps the print square against a corridor wall, where the open lower space gives room to the eye.

As a guide: 40×50 cm suits a desk or small wall, 50×70 cm sits well above a sofa or bed, and 70×100 cm anchors a room as a focal piece. If you'd like advice for your space, send us your dimensions and we'll recommend a size.
For your country, this piece is estimated at 5 to 8 business days from the moment you order, including production, with free tracked delivery. Every piece is made to order by the print partner closest to you; framed pieces take a little longer because each one is framed and checked before dispatch. These are estimates, and there is no express option. Full country-by-country ranges are on our estimated delivery times page, and you can see exactly how your piece is packed.
If your piece arrives damaged, defective, or isn't what you ordered, email us within 7 days of delivery with photos and your order number, and keep all packaging. We will send a free replacement at no cost to you. See our refund policy for the full process.
