About this work
Picture with a Circle 1911 opens on a round form set inside a painted field. The circle reads as a solid mark among softer colour patches. Wassily Kandinsky often used circles as a main shape in his abstract painting movement work.
This fine art print uses a matte paper finish so the colour layers stay flat and do not shine under a lamp. A light frame on a dark wall lets the round form stand out, or a dark frame on a pale wall keeps the smaller marks easy to read.
It works on a bedroom wall near the bed, where the circle shape sits above the headboard and the soft colour patches stay clear at a short distance. You notice the round mark first, then the quieter colour bands beside it.
